From chaos to control: what AI can’t do for you
Software testing and the tech industry as a whole are undergoing an unprecedented paradigm shift with the emergence of generative AI. Companies are seeking extraordinary efficiencies throughout the entire software lifecycle. However, a key question arises: are we building these improvements on a solid foundation of processes? A poor process will still fail to produce good results, even when AI is applied. Technology accelerates, yes, but it also magnifies failures when the foundation is not sound. Furthermore, there is one thing that AI cannot do for us: govern… and let’s hope that remains the case for a long time to come!
In this talk, Sergio Ricote will outline some of the most common challenges he and his team encounter in projects aimed at improving processes and testing tools, contrasting typical expectations with the reality of complex contexts. He will also demonstrate how to approach improvements, from diagnosis through to effective implementation, as well as the role of governance, which is essential for evaluating the effectiveness and value delivered by such improvements.
