Want to make the most out of your trip to Madrid?

Join us on a cultural evening around Madrid, where we’ll take you on a historic & gastronomic guided tour around Madrid’s city centre. Enjoy some great tapas and wines, stopping at many emblematic monuments of the city as well as enjoying a pleasant and cultural evening together the evening before the conference.
The guided tour is around 1.5 km and very easy to walk, you’ll stop at various bars for tapas and wine while enjoying Madrid’s culture!

What you’ll do & see

The tour will start at the emblematic Plaza de Santa Ana, a historical and cultural landmark in Madrid, where you’ll meet your tour guide. There will be three stops to enjoy tapas and drinks:

 

1st Stop Vulcano’s Forge
This historic restaurant, full of charm, is a classic gastronomic stop
Tapas’ highlights:
– Paella (a serving of this iconic Spanish rice speciality)
– Calamar frito (tender and crispy fried squid, a Madrid classic)

 

2nd Stop La Casa del Abuelo
An iconic Madrid tavern known for its traditional atmosphere and speciality prawns.
Tapas’ highlights:
– Gambas al Ajillo (prawns sautéed in olive oil with garlic and chilli, the star dish of the place)
– Vino dulce de la casa (sweet house wine)

 

3rd Stop Taberna Corrientes
A traditional tavern that captures the essence of Madrid’s cuisine
Tapas’ highlights:
– Patatas Bravas (potatoes served with a spicy brava sauce and aioli)
– Albóndigas a la Madrileña (juicy meatballs cooked in a homemade tomato and spice sauce)
– Croquetas (Croquettes, creamy on the inside, crispy on the outside, filled with ham and chicken)

 

Historical places you’ll see during the tour
Between each gastronomic stop, you’ll see some of Madrid’s most emblematic monuments and historic landmarks, such as:
– Puerta del Sol: With the famous clock and kilometre 0, symbolic centre of Spain
– El Oso y el Madroño: Madrid’s iconic sculpture and symbol of the city
– Plaza Mayor: One of the most historic and grandiose squares in Madrid, full of charm and life
– Other points of interest: A tour through the streets and historical corners of the most emblematic neighbourhoods
