Public transport or taxi/cabify can all be used to get to and from the airport, conference hotel and conference venue. Both hotel and conference venue can be located here. You can register for a cabify pickup here.
How to find expo:QA within IFEMA
IFEMA is the main and largest convention center in Spain and it may be difficult to locate where expo:QA is within the convention center. Please find here instructions on how to get to where expo:QA is within IFEMA.
If you arrive at the south entrance, note that the walk from the south entrance to the northeast halls can take approximately 10–15 minutes so please familiarise yourself with the layout to navigate efficiently.
The route is accessible for attendees with mobility needs.
expo:QA kicks-off at 9am each morning and we kindly ask you to please arrive early in the morning so we are able to start on time.
You can either pick up your badge the morning of the workshops at the conference hotel on the 20th of May or the morning of the conference at IFEMA on the 21st & 22nd of May, depending on when you’ll arrive into Madrid. Please note that badge collection will be open from 08:00h so we kindly ask you to arrive early, if possible, to avoid queues and for us to start the conference on time.
Where to go once you collect your badge
On the 21st & 22nd of May at the conference venue, please make your way to Track 1, where we’ll have some morning entertainment on stage for you. This will greatly facilitate us in kicking-off the conference on time.
If you are doing a workshop
Please remember that the workshop day on the 20th of May will be held in the conference hotel, Hotel Ilunion Alcalá Norte. This is not the conference venue! See the location of the workshops here.
Also remember to choose the workshops you’ll attendee in advance before they sell out and take note of any prerequisites you may need to have for the workshop, such as, specific software or tools installed on your laptop. Please remember that all workshops are in English.
Food and drinks will be served in the hotel at coffee breaks and lunch for workshop attendees. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let our event manager, Gabriela, know by the 14th of May as we need to finalise catering by that date.
Tracks 1 and 2 are in English and have simultaneous translation to Spanish. You’ll need to take a receptor head set for this at reception. Please note that tracks 3 and 4 are talks from our sponsors and are mainly in Spanish without translation to English.

Join us on a cultural evening around Madrid on the 20th of May, where we’ll take you on a historic & gastronomic guided tour around Madrid’s city centre. Enjoy some great tapas and wines, stopping at many emblematic monuments of the city as well as enjoying a pleasant and cultural evening together the evening before the conference.
The guided tour is around 1.5 km and very easy to walk, you’ll stop at various bars for tapas and wine while enjoying Madrid’s culture! It’s a great way wind down after the workshop day, if you are giving one, or just simply to kick-off your stay at expo:QA, if you arrive in on the 20th.
Transport to and from the meeting point is arranged and taxis will leave at 19:30h from the conference hotel, returning around 22:30h.

The community space is where you can meet the speakers in person and follow up with them on what they talked about during the event. There’s lots going on there to help you network and meet fellow testers: sign up for the bug hunt, put your name down to participate in the game show and mingle with fellow conference attendees.
The community space will be located at the end of the exhibition hall so be sure to check it out while at the conference.
The expo:QA networking dinner will be held on the 21st of May and as a speaker you are invited to attend. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax after an exciting day at the conference and catch-up with fellow speakers.
Transport to and from the restaurant is arranged and a coach will leave at 20:00h from the conference hotel, returning at 23:30h.
Please confirm your attendance with our event manager, Gabriela, by the 15th of May, as we need to confirm final numbers with the restaurant by then. If you sign-up for the networking dinner and for some reason are unable to attend on the day, also please inform Gabriela as we can offer your place to someone else.

The expo:QA Game Show is a great opportunity to have fun at the end of the day on the 21st of May, giving your opinion on numerous topics about testing. Anyone can participate but speakers usually make up most of the contenders, having fun debating their opinions among themselves. We really encourage you to participate as again it adds to your experience at expo:QA. Please get in touch with our program chair, Rick Tracy, and let him know you’d like take part.

Expo:QA wouldn’t be expo:QA without prizes, and like always, there is so much to bring home with you. Make sure to get your expo:QA passport, visit the exhibiting stands, get it stamped, come to the nextest.io stand, and get lots of swag and win an Apple Watch.
We have some great companies exhibiting at the conference, so be sure to interact with them, as they’ll have lots of fun activities and prizes to win. Remember all prizes will be given out during the awards’ ceremony at end of the conference, so be sure to stay around to claim your prize, otherwise someone else will!
Session materials will be made available to attendees to download from the expo:QA website the day after the conference.
